Over ten years in the same house you will need a dentist for three quite different reasons: the check-up that is suddenly overdue, the tooth that cracks on a Sunday, and the crown that takes several appointments to finish. Prime Smile Dental Clinic covers all three from one set of rooms in Clyde, inside Casey Medical Centre, and Lyndhurst sits in the area it serves. Jonemson Perez opened the practice in 2023. So the dentist reading an urgent X-ray can put it beside the one taken at your last check-up and see what has changed.

What a First Visit Puts on File
A first appointment is an examination before it is anything else. The dentist looks properly, and where looking is not enough, X-rays and diagnostics show what is happening between teeth, under an old filling and below the gumline. What comes back is a description of your mouth as it stands today: which teeth are sound, which are being watched, which need work now.
Findings are explained before options are discussed, and the cost of each option is set out before any treatment starts. Straightforward work often follows on that first visit.
The everyday list at the Clyde clinic:
- Check-ups and cleans, fillings, X-rays and diagnostics
- Root canal treatment, extractions and wisdom teeth
- Crowns, bridges and dental implants
- Teeth whitening, veneers and other cosmetic work
- Children’s dentistry, from a toddler’s first look onwards
- Same-day emergency care
Braces, clear aligners and dentures in Lyndhurst are available too. Each of those starts with its own assessment rather than being folded into a check-up.
Preferred Providers
What It Costs, and the Ways People Pay
No figure can be quoted honestly before someone has looked. What can be promised is the order: examination, findings, then the options with the cost of each attached, and your decision after that. Contact us for current pricing, and expect the number to arrive with a plan around it rather than on its own.
Several routes can run together:
- Preferred provider arrangements with private health funds. Bring the card so the rebate is settled at the desk.
- Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule, for eligible children up to 17, covering a set list of general dental services. We check the entitlement against your child’s Medicare details first.
- Afterpay and Zip, turning one bill into scheduled instalments.
- Payment plans through the finance providers the practice partners with.
- Early release of superannuation, which some patients apply for towards larger treatment. It takes time to arrange, so raise it early rather than late.
- Cash and card for anything paid outright.
What a health fund leaves you to pay depends on your own policy and your level of cover, so it is worth checking that before a long course of treatment starts.
Prime Smile Dental Clinic, and Who Sees You Each Time
Prime Smile Dental Clinic is a general dental clinic in Clyde, in the Casey area of Victoria’s south-east, and Lyndhurst is one of the suburbs it serves alongside Hampton Park, Cranbourne and Clyde North, and it is the clinic anyone after a dentist in Lynbrook will find as well. Jonemson Perez founded it in 2023 inside Casey Medical Centre, and it has worked from that one address since.
Every dentist here holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and is registered through the Australian Dental Council. The work is general practice: preventive and restorative dentistry, children’s appointments, and the urgent visits that interrupt both. Dr Jeff Field, an anaesthetist, is part of the team and supports sedation for anxious patients and for more involved procedures. Where each dentist trained is set out on the about page.
You will not always see one particular dentist, because rosters and same-day slots make that a promise no practice can honestly keep. What stays constant is the file. Notes, images and the plan you agreed to are held in one place, so whoever sees you next starts from what the last dentist actually found rather than from your recollection of it.
How Long Until You Are Due Again
Six months is the interval most people carry in their heads, and for plenty of patients it is about right. It is not a rule. The gap between reviews is a clinical judgement, and it moves on gum health, on how much decay you have had before, and on what the last examination turned up. Some patients are asked back sooner for a stretch, then settle into a longer interval once things are stable.
The recall earns its keep on the problems that give no warning. Decay creeping between two teeth, a crack running under an old filling, gum disease in its early stage: none of them hurt while they are still cheap and simple to deal with. A review is largely a comparison exercise, which is why last year’s X-rays are worth nearly as much as this year’s.

The Tooth That Goes Wrong Between Reviews
Emergency care runs as part of the ordinary week here, not as a favour squeezed in afterwards. A filling that has come out, a crown that has lifted off, a tooth broken over the weekend, swelling that kept you awake: ring and describe it, and it is handled as urgent from that first call. The phone is faster than the booking form for anything in that category, and both weekend days are working days at this clinic.
If you have been in before, the appointment starts further along. The dentist can see which tooth was already being watched, what was done to it and when, and whether this is a new problem or an old one arriving. That removes most of the guesswork before you have sat down, which on a painful Saturday morning is the whole difference.
Treatment That Runs Across Several Appointments
Some work cannot be finished in one sitting. A crown or a bridge, root canal treatment, implants, a course of clear aligners and braces in Lyndhurst, a full or partial denture: each is a sequence, and how many visits it takes is settled as part of the plan you agree to rather than discovered halfway through.
Where several teeth need attention at once, the order is a decision rather than a given. What is urgent, what is structural and what is cosmetic do not have to share a year or a budget, and a practice that already holds your history can stage the work sensibly and pick it up again later. Say at the assessment if cost or time is the constraint, and the sequence gets built around that.
Hours, Numbers and Where to Start
The clinic is open every day of the week:
- Monday to Friday: 9am to 6pm
- Saturday: 8am to 6pm
- Sunday: 9am to 3pm
Online booking on this site takes a time at any hour. Through opening hours the lines are (03) 592 922 53 and 0477 138 908, and email reaches the practice at info@primesmiledentalclinic.com.au.
If it has been years rather than months, say so when you ring. It changes what the first appointment is for, and it is the most useful thing you can tell us before you arrive.

What Patients Ask About Cover, Cost and the Rules They Have Heard
How do you get free dental care in Australia?
Public dental services are run by state governments, and access depends on holding a pensioner concession card or a health care card, with waiting times that vary by how urgent the problem is. Separately, eligible children up to 17 can be treated under Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule, which covers a set list of general dental services. Prime Smile Dental Clinic is a private practice, so for everyone else the routes that bring the cost down are health fund cover, instalments and payment plans.
Why is dental not covered by Medicare?
Dental care was left out when Medicare was designed, and general adult dentistry has never been brought inside it. The exceptions are narrow: the Child Dental Benefits Schedule for eligible children, and state-run public clinics for concession card holders. Adults otherwise pay privately, which is why health fund cover and instalment options do most of the work in practice.
What is the 50-40-30 rule in dentistry?
The 50-40-30 rule is not something Australian dental practice runs on. It is a formula that circulates online, and the versions of it do not agree with one another. A treatment plan here is built from the examination and the X-rays, tooth by tooth, and you should be able to see those findings before you agree to anything.
What is the 2 year rule for dentists?
There is no two-year rule setting how often an adult should be seen. The genuine two-year span in Australian dentistry belongs to Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule, which totals an eligible child’s benefit over two calendar years instead of resetting it annually. Your own interval is decided in the chair.
